| Collection of Byzantine icons - Agia Ekaterini The basilica of Agia (St.) Ekaterini, part of the Sinaitic monastery,
is located northeast of Agios Minas Cathedral. It used to be a
school of higher education, and many famous Cretan intellectuals
studied there. The Turks converted it into a mosque, which they
called Zoulfikar Ali or Kethounda Tzamici, but did not deprive
it of the name Agia Ekaterini. Today it houses an exhibition of
icons and relics of the Church of Crete. You can admire 6 icons
