| Before you leave Chersonissos, visit Lychnostatis, the Cretan
traditional life and popular culture museum. The assistant professor
of ophthalmology and collectorfolklore specialist Giorgos Markakis

used to build the museum and mechanical means (diggers-loaders-cement
mixers etc.) were avoided. The museum, due to its many outdoor
areas, van be visited from April 1st to October 31st each year.
Inside the museum you will find the following areas: Agricultural
home (Kostis Fraggoulis Portico), Urban Cretan home, Fabbrica (old
olive-oil press), Windmill, Church, Mitato, Threshing floor, Grape-press,
Cauldron for raki production, Wood-stove, Textile and vegetable
dye workshop, Pottery workshop, Aromatic plant and flower processing |
