| Agia Varvara is a bit further south. The villagers' main occupation
is to cater for the needs of passing drivers; in fact, they say
that Agia Varvara is the longest village in Crete, as it is built
along the road. You will see this as you cross it. In any case,
the fact that drivers stop here is no coincidence, because the
vegetables of Agia Varvara are famous for their quality, and are
considered among the best in Crete. |
