On the same road heading east, you will encounter Istro. The first beach as you move away from Agios Nikolaos is Karavostassi. It is a remote beach with fine pebbles and a few trees. There is a canteen and showers for swimmers. There is another bay further down, Agios Panteleimonas, with a larger, sandy and organised beach. The area's east emmost beach is Golden Beach, with golden sand, as its name implies, and quite large. The marram trees behind you offer their shade, while the turquoise sea before you gives the landscape a sense of the exotic. Umbrellas and deckchairs are there to make your visit more comfortable.
