| North of Saktouria village you will find Melambes. If you feel like it, take a walk through the picturesque streets and buy white wine, honey and cheese - products that the village is famous for. The four martyrs who were beheaded at Megali Porta in Rethymnon originated from Melambes. A church has been built in their names in Rethymnon, and their memory is celebrated on October 28th every year. There is also a church dedicated to them in Melambes, and it is worth a visit. |
