The Monastery Of Agia

This is the most important monastery in the Cyclades. It is said that in the Byzantine era it was used as a School and became a monastery in 842 by order of the empress Theodora. Many islanders, nobles and commoners, were educated at the school, which also produced many priests, bishops and patriarchs
