| The picturesque City of Andros (Hora) is built upon a small peninsula,
situated approximately in the centre of the east coastline. The
town is One of the more evenly-balanced and cultured capitals in
the Aegean area, with a quite intense commerce, its professional
activity and a mild growth in tourism. But the sector which is
by far unrivalled is the sector of culture. The sedate development of tourism is particularly focused in the Nimborio area, which offers the most accommodation. You will have several choices for swimming. The two beaches, Nimborio and Paraporti, in the left and in the right of Chora, are both accessible by foot from the town. To reach the scenic and usually deserted Lidi beach, you have to walk in the old footpath for 20 min. The beaches of Yalyia and Pisso Yalyia can be reached by car in about 10 minutes. Also, during the high season, small boats can take you to the beautiful Achla beach where you can enjoy, as well as its clear water and clean sands, its aquatic beauty at the mouth of the Achla river. |
