Now
Although we do not have a lot of information from the antiquity, we however have a lot of information on the life in Ikaria this time. The island has a lot of beauties, the splendid beaches, the voluble wind, strange and peculiar life, that begins late the evening and finishes afterwards the east of her helium, with celebrations that keeps every resident, her ovens, her herbs inal spings that are hot (43-45 degrees of Celsius) which are advisable for rheumatism, spondylo-arthritis, arthritis and fun s of neuron. We are at road for the island, there where the residents are always calm and with a smile in their face. We are ready before make a bathin its spotless waters, before we dance until the morning in the celebrations, we visit the Archaeological Folklore Museum, the Saint Preacher (capital and harbor of island) that it includes neolithic tools, tomb columns, vessels, currencies, utensiles, tools and pictures. We have decided to visit Armenisti - coastal settlement. The ruins of ancient holy, in, a unique landscape with the river that crosses all his extent, with graphic fish-houses, but also the “uneasy” summer artists that paint with their paintbrush the beauty of nature. As long as for holy the temple, he was dedicated in Tayropolo Artemida. It is still said also(noone can confirm it, but noone can deny it) that in that region was lived by Naiads. We are still prepared to visit Eydilo, that is built amphitheatrical with the 300 residents, with the leeward artificial harbor, with the traditional but also modern houses, a lot of bloomed flowers and beautidul beaches. But we said it, before we sunk in splendid waters of Ikaria, that we will also visit the Ruins of ancient Oinois in the near village Kambos. We have not still touched the harbor, and the impatience occupies us. We are children of city, with other rythms, with other nerves, nerves pestered. We should calm down, we must learn to wait for, to smile, to dance, stay up all night, if what we wish is to become one with their Ikaria residents. The Ikaria residents that really lives with their own calm and cheerful rythms, their have learned to share,to give. Only one advice, one that you will also discover: Do not make appointment with Ikaria residents. Somewhere, at some time, in some point of island you will meet them. Do not worry. Patience and good stay.
