Crimes
Myrina is the capital of Limnos and is found in westwards of the
island. It is built on relic of ancient settlements from neolithic
Years until Hellenistic, and has rich mythological and historical
past. Its name owes it in her fabulous queen, Myrina. However,

the photograph that we have infront us. Near the city, where we
supposed to be archaeological space of Holy Artemidas,

Archaeological places:
In the Eastern side of the island, in the place
Boroskopos near the village Kaminia, is found the neolithic
settlement of Poliochnis, that was discovered by the Italian Archaeological
Faculty Athens the summertime of 1930. It is a big part of settlement
of Precocious Season of Coper, with a lot of phases architectural
and cultural growth, that covers the 3rd bc millenium.
Kabeiro is found in the region of Xlois, in the north of the island,
in point with impressive view across it, beautidul and divine Samothrace.
According to the mythology, “Kabeiroi” were the
three sons and the three daughters of Ifaistoy and Kabeirroys
and were worshipped in Limnos as deities. Their adoration was intensely
mystical and it included ceremonies that remained known as “Kabeiria
Mysteries” and they had relation with the rebirth of nature
and the fertility. In the rocky coast is found also the cave of fabulous
Filoktiti, that was abandoned by his partners at the duration
of expedition against Troia.
The Ifaistia are dated by Compo-lithic Season and it appears
that they it was habitated continuously up to the Byzantine
years.
The architecture
The relative delay of tourist growth and up to recently limited reconstruction
had the consequence to maintain the traditional popular architecture

build big beautiful houses. By the donations of Limnos' immigrants,
but also by collections of poor residents of island in the end
of
the 19th century, were created marvellous school buildings.
They are many things for the visitor to do, to see and enjoy.
