Campers will find a warm welcome everywhere in this close-to-nature country. Tents may be pitched practically anywhere but if you intend camping close to an archeological site, sport ter advise the nearest security station. Tents and camping equipment may be brought into Greece free of duty, provided they are taken out at the end of the stay.
Students are well treated by carriers: the railroads grant up to 50 or 60 % reduction according to circumstances, shipping lines sport ween 20 and 50 %, hotels up to 20 %. The Greek Youth Hostels Association, 12 Kolokotroni St., Athens, tel. 34-107, is affiliated to the International Youth Hostel Federation and members are admitted to its hostels all over Greece and to its summer camp at Mati (Attica), some 18 miles from Athens.

In most of these places breakfast and other meals may be had.
The Academy of Arts, 42 Patission St., Athens, runs summer colonies for legitimate artists and art students on the islands of Mykonos, Hydra and Rhodes, and at Delphi.

We also mention the monasteries that are open to overnight visitors. No charge is made and in some of them guests will be offered simple food consisting of bread, cheese and wine. It is customary, however, to leave a donation for the upkeep of these religious establishmentri.
